Goals

17:53

Goals are something that everyone needs in order to keep ourselves on track and develop in life. I am someone who thinks about the future a lot. I always like have a plan for the future and like to have that all laid out, otherwise I can feel very unsettled which is kind of where I am at the moment. For a while, I really wanted to be a Doctor, but recently I have been thinking that maybe that's not for me. It is a long time to study and I don't know if I want to be a doctor enough to make it worth it. Maybe being a nurse would be better suited but again, I am not sure if that is really what I want to do. In school today, my tutor was telling us that we should start looking at open days at different universities (baring in mind that this is only the first week of A Levels it seems a little bit in advanced and adds to the pressure!) and it made me a little unsettled. That I don;t really know what I am going to do after the next two years.

What I would love to do it take a year off and go travelling. I saw on social media that a girl in primary school is travelling to Africa to volunteer for a year which would be incredible to do. There are so many places in this world that we will never get a chance to see but I'd like to at least make a dent in the long list I have! And you know what, maybe I will go travelling for a year. Or maybe I will find a course and a University that I absolutely love. But I am not going to make any rash decisions or plan ever single detail from the start. It is good to have big goals, but they tend to be the ones that don't happen, or change so much they are not longer anything like your original goal, so instead I am going to make little ones. Like making sure I get all my school work down, which will mean that I can get the grades I want at school, so going to university is still an option. I also planning to raise enough money to travel to Sri Lanka for a month next summer to volunteer in some projects there. So far I can't see how I am going to be able to raise enough money but I am still hoping it will happen! I've made a savings plan in my bullet journal and am going to start by ticking off each aspect I need before I have it all saved!

So this is a bit of a waffly post but I hope you liked it! Let me know if you liked or disliked it in the comments! Have you set yourself any goals to help you through the year?

  4. Lovely post, Kizzy! Goals are super important. Though it's a little unsettling you'll get the hang of it. I have to apply to universities within the next couple of weeks. Come December I'll determine where I'm going. I'm extremely nervous. Wishing you the best of luck with school and your future career! x
