Monthly Favourites: August

17:30

I never normally do monthly favourites as I can never find enough new bits and pieces in my life to share. However this month I have actually had quite a lot of success in finding new things to try out.I'll admit, I have been in a bit of a slump these past few weeks and have been reflecting on my blog and the posts I do and, although I love all the posts I have on my blog and will keep doing them, but I also want to add more to my blog, change up the posts by haveing more discussion post. I have a few ideas in mind and just have to get them down in writing and hopefully, you'll begin to see a few more thought provoking posts in the near future. Anyway! Enough rambling lets get on with the post!

The first thing is something I have only really been using the last few days but I really hope to continue with it. It is an app called 30 Day Fit. There are four different areas you can work on, abs, push ups, squats and extra bodyweight exercises, and then within those areas, you have six levels you can do with a 30-day plan to work out that area. I like that you can build up and have a clear plan over the next 30 days. It also takes about 10 minutes which means you can definitely fit it into your day -I was in bed the other day and remembered that I forgot to do it (if that makes sense?) so I just got up and did them quickly before going to sleep! You can really feel it working so I hope I see some results soon!

Over the last month, I have really gotten into reading magazines. I don't really know why as I have never been before but I saw this month's Vogue on offer and thought why not? I then spent ages looking at all the amazing clothes and stories within it. I then saw Eleanor Claudie's post on what she's been loving lately and I really loved the sound of the magazine she talked about. I didn't quite realise how expensive they are (Franke being £6.00 and Oh Comely being £5) so I was a bit shocked when I went to the till! But the good thing (spending wise) is that they come out every other month which means you can get one one month, the other the next! I can;t wait to read more article in these beautiful and interesting magazines.

For a while now, I have wanted to add some prints to my room as I have a lovely Alice in Wonderland print I got for Christmas and I would love to have some others to hang along side it. I found some gorgeous prints by various people on Etsy but they are all quite expensive and not something I can afford to buy out of the blue - they will all be on my Christmas wish list for sure! However I saw this postcard on Instagram by the company PeahesandCo and loved it, then looking at cheap it was, compared to all the other prints, I knew it would be perfect! All it needs now is a nice frame and voila! A new print to decorate my room!

If you have been reading my blog for a few months, you will recognise this black denim pinafore dress from a clothes haul that I did but it was only recently that I really started to wear it and my favourite top the pair with it is the off the shoulder, stripped crop top. When I got this top I really regretted it as it was a bit of an impulse buy and then decided that it really didn't look right and tried to give to everyone but no one wanted it, however, I think it looks really good with this dress and the off the shoulders bit adds something to the look! I've been wearing this look quite a lot recently and it has been perfect for this sunny then cloudy then rainy weather as it is warm yet summery at the same time!

So those are my monthly favourites! What have you been enjoying in the month of August? Oh and well done to all those with getting their results this month! I hope you were all pleased and if not, it's not the end of the world and you will make it through!

  2. I loved this post- a short and sweet august summary! I have done a bit of travelling this month, and always like to pick up a fashion magazine to read- but they are pricy! I have just bought a black denim pinafore and am in two minds about it! Half LOVE it, half scared if I'll wear it enough for how much I paid! Lydia Eve | www.lydia-eve.blogspot.co.uk xx

  4. The app you had mentioned in your monthly favorites really is useful to me as I'm a ballet dancer. Due to this, I have to make sure I'm in good shape pretty much 24/7. The fact that the daily workout is 10 minutes as well, that's great.

PS: Love your blog, by the way.

  6. Ahh you got the magazines! Yup I hate how they're so expensive they are so it is lucky they only come out every other month (although the articles are so great I would probably buy them every month if I could!) xx
