How to Relax with the Perfect Pamper Evening

17:30

During the week, there are times when you are constantly on to go and it feels like you never have a break and then when it comes to the weekend all you want to do is slump on the couch in your pyjama and watch your favourite series episode after episode for the next 48 hours. However, even though this can be just what you need, I also like to spend a little bit of time to relax and to treat myself, without breaking the bank or having to go to much effort. So today I thought I would share with you a step by step guide on how to have the perfect pamper evening; the best way to relax after a stressful week that can also be done from the comfort of your couch.

Step One: It's soak time!

Now I am not really a bath person so I very rarely have one as I tend to get bored very quickly, so have to be fully prepared (I set up my laptop with a film and take both my kindle and my phone) as well as having a nice bath bomb and some bubbles so it is all a little bit of a faff for me and I can never get the temperature right. However, they can be very relaxing when you get them right - light some nice candle, get your favourite bath bomb out (who else is addicted to Lush?), and put on a nice girly film to watch.

However, a nice alternative is to get a lovely basin (yup, glamorous I know) and fill it with some warm water, nice smelling salts/bath oils and take it to your couch ready to soak you feet whilst watching the TV. This is a great way to have a lovely soak if you find baths a bit of a hassle and it is great for those who are always on their feet. You could also make another one for your hands which will make them lovely and soft.

Step Two: Get that mask on!

Face masks are a little luxury that I really need to do more often. I did one the other day for the first time in months and I realised just how lovely they are. I felt like my skin was so much cleaner and fresher than it has been for so long, and it has really encouraged me to make them a more regular thing in my schedule. They really don't take long and are actually really inexpensive. If you want to really treat yourself you can obviously go for the more high-end brands or try out a Lush mask (which I relly want to try, anyone got any recommendations?), or you can get a little sashay from your local store, and they can be used 2 or 3 times and cost as little as 99p! Just a little side note, if you have quite sensitive skin, make sure you test the mask before hand as masks often react badly.

Step Three: Time to paint the town!

Now painting my nails is something that I really love to do. When I am at school I really miss being able to brighten by nails and have been loving the new found freedom of changing my nails to lots of different colours and shades this holiday - I really have too many nail polishes yet I somehow always find another excuse to add one to my collection! Some of the brands I have been really loving at the moment are Essie and Sally Hansen with their new Gel formulas which I find last so long with is great as my nails always seem to chip really easily. I find painting my nails just makes everything that little bit better as it brings a bit of colour into your day and is the perfect thing to finish your pamper evening!

So this is how I like to relax with my perfect pamper evening! How do you like to relax?

  1. I still hadn't really had the "perfect' pamper routine. I always just give up on actually taking the time to treat myself and just go straight to the movies. I can't really have a bath because I own a shower but I always see the prettiest pictures on tumblr and it is something I will definitely look for once I get an apartment.
    Great post!
