5 SUMMER HAIR LOOKS

18:36

So today I am going to show you some of my top quick and easy hair looks that are great for summer. In summer, I find that I always favour looks that get my hair off my face, especially if it is a nice hot day and I don't want my hair plastered to my face. And because of this, my hair tends to be in either a high bun or a high pony tail. However, I have found that these styles take no time at all and look really nice, making it look like you have put a bit more effort into your look than you actually have! Once you know how to do a simple braid, you can pretty much do any of these styles but there are some other ways of adapting them if you can't (if anyone would like a more in depth tutorial on how to braid or anything like that please comment and I'll be sure to do that!).

This first look is done by using a dutch or reversed braid. This is when, instead if taking the side pieces of hair over the middle, you take them under. This create a inside out braid with looks great for this look. You can obviously use a french braid as well however I find it harder to get it as tight as I like for this look but do what ever suits you! You could also tie to plaits together at the back of the head to get a nice look that would be great for a festival!

Here is a look that is the same idea as the look above so is great if you don't know how to do a plait. You can do this as a bit of a messy look like I have here by using some texture spray (like sea salt spray) or some dry shampoo, for a really super quick look, or this look would look great with curly hair - I like to plait mine in two braids the night before with slightly damp hair.

Plaits become quite difficult when you have quite short hair as they unravel but I do think that they can look really nice on really long hair and it is a great way of getting long hair off your face. However, for those with shorter hair, you can still manage it and it can look quite cute, here I have them in dutch braids again however I do think this look looks better with french braids as it makes it slightly more rugged and messy looking.

For those who have even shorter hair that is impossible to follow on the braid and just keeps unravelling, this is a great way of still having a double braid. When I first got my hair cut into a long bob (or a lob as some may say...)  a couple of months ago, I really loved this look and was super cute but I also think it will look really nice for those who have longer hair and I think I'll be wearing it quite a bit when my hair grows out some more.

This final look is done using a fish tail braid which can seem pretty difficult at first but is super easy once you get the hang of it. All I did was take two sections of hair from the front of my head, pulled it back and then took small strands from the edge of each side, adding it to the other strand. Of course, this will also look great with a normal plait or a french braid but you stop adding hair half way so you get this a half up/half down look.

So there it is! Five super quick but really pretty looks for you try out this summer! What are you favourite styles to wear in summer?
